Not after Midnight by Daphne du Maurier

I admit the writer is excellent in involving the reader with the story. She skillfully drives the reader to the world of mystery full of Greek myths such as Dinysus, Silenos, and satyr. She associates them with Mr. Stoll so well that the reader thinks Mr. Stoll looks like a satyr.

However, this story is unsatifcactory. It does not tell how Charles Gordon died nor shows enough motive on the part of Mrs. Stoll to kill her husband. Also, I do not understand the meaning and significance of the title "Not after MIdnight."
