This is an Italian story.  It is a pure entertainment story. It develops quickly to the end with a lot of fun. The funniest scenes are when the son and his Master change into various things, such as wind, a pigeon, horse, an old man, a conger, an eel, a dove, a falcon, a ring, a cock, a doctor, and a fox. The phrases such as “Conger I am, and a ring will I become,” or “Doctor I am, and a cock will I become” are spells and are used effectively and swiftly enough for the reader to enjoy the changes.

In the end the son (the fox) eats the cock (Master). And the princess and the son marry. Happy end.
