Crooner by Kazuo Ishiguro

Janeck(protagonist) helps Mr. Gardner to sing on a gondola below his wife's window as a memorial present for her, accompanied by Janeck's guitar. After singing, Mr. Gardner confesses their divorce. He was an old man, passed his day, but Mrs. Gardner is still young and may go upwards steps. His glorious days are remembered by Janeck's mother, a fan of Mr. Gardner.

A light touched short story. Too elaborate. It is obvious that it was a made-up story. Before they sails to the window, Mr. Gardner tells about his wife. That was too long. The story should be much more concise. Not exciting. I was not able to identify with Janeck.  NO moving story. Not entertaining.
